Reputed medical journal "Archives of Disease in Childhood" of the "British Medical Journal" group recently published the results of the clinical research project that began at the end of 2006 in the Children's gastroenterology department of the Brussels University Hospital.
A new presentation at the 178th Meeting of the Acoustical Society of America in San Diego will report on ultrasound as used in pregnancy, especially with respect to the comparison of two sets of data derived from two separate ultrasound techniques to evaluate cervical changes. The researchers claim that both ultrasound techniques help to estimate the attenuation coefficient of human cervical tissue, and to thus assess changes in it, providing a better picture of the true risk for preterm birth thereby.
A flexible tail allows swimming bacteria to thin the surrounding liquid and to free themselves when trapped along walls or obstacles.
Palomar Medical Technologies has announced the resolution of its on- going patent infringement and trade dress infringement lawsuit against Alma Lasers, Inc.
"What many people say they fear most from an overhaul of the health care system [is] the prospect of the federal government's limiting the medical care they receive," the New York Times reports. Policy experts say people are right to worry about health care costs, but this fear of rationing is unrealistic. "[T]here is nothing in the current proposals in Washington to suggest that the country is likely to embark on a system of medical rationing anytime soon," the Times reports.
