Children whose parents and families are under ongoing stress have more fevers with illness than other children. Published this month in the Archives of Pediatric and Adolescent Medicine, the study also shows the unanticipated conclusion that children's natural killer cell function, part of the body's innate immune system, increases under chronic stress, unlike adults, whose function is decreased.
Associate Professor Emeritus of Psychiatry and Pediatrics (OHSU, Portland, Oregon) is seeking roughly 50-100 volunteer families to participate in a vitamin D study. The goal of the study is to find out whether giving Vitamin D to the pregnant mother, who already has had at least one previous child with autism, can prevent the recurrence of autism in the newborn sibling.
Prior Scientific's Z-Deck range is a high quality, height adjustable platform designed specifically for upright microscopes widely used in electrophysiology and neuroscience, including the Nikon FN1/Ni, the Olympus BX51WI / BX61WI, and the Zeiss Axio Examiner microscopes.
