The East Tennessee Health Information Network (etHIN) has selected OptumInsight's health information exchange (HIE) technology to help physicians, hospitals and other health care providers in the region improve patient care coordination and quality.
Researchers at the University of Virginia Cancer Center are developing a tool to help patients with prostate cancer better understand the potential risks and rewards of their treatment options. And that tool could ultimately benefit not just those patients but a broad spectrum of patients making complex care decisions based on their tumor's genomic information.
Dr. Michal Kuczma, a research assistant professor in the Institute for Biomedical Sciences at Georgia State University, has received a three-year, $270,000 Career Development Award from the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation to study environmental influences on gut microbiota, immunity and inflammation.
DSM, which created and manufactures Dyneema Purity, the world's strongest Medical grade fiber, today announced agreements with Biomedical Structures, Cortland Company and Secant Medical. These companies' experience in processing Dyneema Purity fiber in biomedical textile structures offers medical device companies the ability to use various constructions of Dyneema Purity, including the recently launched Dyneema Purity BLUE, in commercial medical devices.
New research shows that there are several effective strategies available to people wanting to avoid regaining weight after a successful diet.
