Researchers from Massachusetts General Hospital and Duke University have identified genetic mutations that appear to underlie a rare but devastating syndrome combining reproductive failure with cerebellar ataxia - a lack of muscle coordination - and dementia.
In a two-year UCLA-led study, nearly two-thirds of people with advanced melanoma responded positively to a treatment that combines the immunotherapy drug pembrolizumab with a herpes virus called talimogene laherpareovec, or T-VEC.
The Ontario Nurses' Association (ONA) is warning that London-area cancer patients will face longer wait times as London Health Sciences Centre cuts five of its 22 full-time and four of its part-time front-line primary care nurses providing outpatient cancer program care.
Researchers and clinicians already know that alcohol abuse and/or dependence can lead to severe and potentially irreversible brain damage.
