Electronic eye exams could become popular in the U.S. among patients who see them as an easy way to visit the eye doctor.
Despite US Preventive Services Task Force recommendations for screening and treating obesity, there are many barriers, several of which may be ameliorated through technological approaches according to a new study by researchers at NYU Langone Medical Center published online August 21, 2014 in the Journal of General Internal Medicine.
Carol Berkowitz, MD, and Mallory D. Witt, MD, lead researchers at the Los Angeles Biomedical Research Institute at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center, received the Serge & Yvette Dadone Clinical Teaching Award in Honor of Saleh Salehmoghaddam, M.D., a peer-reviewed recognition of their "outstanding dedication, innovation, and sustained excellence in clinical and classroom teaching," according to the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA, which presented the awards.
The Republican-led House has agreed to replace deep budget cuts scheduled to hit the Pentagon in January with a series of reductions in funding for food stamps, Medicaid and regulation of the financial sector.
