A new paper published in Regulatory Toxicology and Pharmacology, co-authored by the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine, calls for ongoing development and regulatory acceptance of adverse outcome pathways (AOPs), a framework for improving chemical hazard assessment by prioritizing modern test methods that reduce animal use.
Eli Lilly and Company will present data from more than 25 studies at the 48th Annual Meeting of the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) in Chicago, Ill. from June 1 – 5, 2012, including overall survival results from PARAMOUNT, a Phase III study of an ALIMTA (pemetrexed for injection)-based continuation maintenance regimen for the treatment of advanced nonsquamous non-small cell lung cancer.
Their research suggests that emergency physicians should counsel with other physicians against discharge when they feel strongly about a patient for whom there is no compelling data, other than our evaluation and judgment, Chandra said.
