Restricting use of an artificial pancreas to the evening and nighttime, with standard pump therapy the rest of the time, seems to deliver similar benefits to using one all day and night in patients with Type 1 diabetes, a study suggests.
Takeda Pharmaceutical Company Limited and its wholly-owned subsidiary, Takeda Pharmaceuticals North America, Inc., today announced that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration approved EDARBI for the treatment of hypertension, or high blood pressure, in adults.
Alzheimer's disease affects an estimated 5.4 million people in the U.S., some 480,000 of them in California. Nearly half of all people 85 and older will be stricken with the disease. The overall burden of dementia is still higher, with Alzheimer's accounting for only 60 to 80 percent of dementia cases.
Pancreatic cancer patients treated with a combination of chemotherapy and radiation after surgery survive approximately six months longer than those receiving surgery alone, Johns Hopkins Kimmel Cancer Center scientists report.
