Colorectal cancer constitute the third most common cancer in the Western world. Their incidence constantly increases as the population ages, and despite recent advances in colorectal cancer therapy, the cancer metastasizes in every third of colorectal cancer patients, and a significant part of these patients eventually die from the disease
More than half of the patients who have suffered a stroke with no well-defined aetiology have an enlarged left atrial appendage of the heart, according to a Finnish study. The results indicate that the enlargement of the left atrial appendage may be an independent risk factor of strokes with cardiac origin.
After transgender and gender diverse minors start puberty, prescribing treatment to suppress puberty is the recommended strategy if desired and if diagnostic and treatment criteria are met. Pubertal suppression is commonly used in children who experience early puberty.
Women who take the most common fertility drugs, progesterone and clomiphene, are at a greater risk to develop thyroid cancer than those who don't, according to a study by the Institute of Cancer Epidemiology, Danish Cancer Society.
