There is a wide gender divide when it comes to how men and women are prescribed and adhere to their medications. According to a new study, while women use more prescription drugs than men, they are less likely to be prescribed drugs according to clinical guidelines and are not as good about adhering to the medications they are prescribed.
Dr. John D. Statler, a board-certified, fellowship-trained Interventional Radiologist with Virginia Interventional & Vascular Associates, is one of only 23 physicians nationwide selected this year as new Fellows in the Society of Interventional Radiology.
The G20 countries "could help both the poor and the global economy by fully financing lagging efforts to fight poverty and disease worldwide, and the best way to do this would be to impose a very small tax on the prosperous foreign exchange industry," Philippe Douste-Blazy, a former French foreign minister who is a special adviser to the U.N. secretary general on innovative financing, writes in a New York Times opinion piece.
Military veterans exposed to combat were more likely to exhibit signs of depression and anxiety in later life than veterans who had not seen combat, a new study from Oregon State University shows.
