The following is a statement by Eric J. Hall, president and CEO of the Alzheimer's Foundation of America (AFA), in response to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services' release today of its "Draft National Plan To Address Alzheimer's Disease."
Researchers at the National Institutes of Health have discovered a therapy that targets host cells rather than bacterial cells in treating bacterial pneumonia in rodents.
The importance of an adequate motor coordination level in childhood has recently reemerged. In literature on motor skill development, the focus is mostly on the proficiency/competence level in movement skills. Motor competence/coordination can be defined as a person's ability to execute different motor acts, including coordination of both fine and gross motor skills (Henderson & Sugden, 1992).
Quanterix Corporation, a single molecule technology company focused on developing a next generation diagnostics platform, announced today that it was awarded a total of $733,437 in grants under the Qualifying Therapeutic Discovery Project (QTDP) program. The QTDP program recognized Quanterix's Single Molecule Array (SiMoA™) platform as a promising advance that will improve diagnosis and treatment of disease while reducing healthcare costs.
