Sanford-Burnham Medical Research Institute at Lake Nona announced the selection of the first five research organizations that will participate in the Florida Translational Research Program to advance drug discovery in the state.
The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) today approved Taxotere (docetaxel) Injection Concentrate for use in combination with cisplatin and fluorouracil prior to radiotherapy for the treatment of patients with inoperable, locally advanced squamous cell carcinoma of the head and neck (SCCHN).
Today, GENALICE is setting a new standard for ultra-fast and highly reliable detection of all DNA changes in large patient cohorts. In a one-hour online event, the complete genomes of 800 Alzheimer Disease (AD) patients were processed, and by ingeniously using the aggregate information from the complete group, detection of DNA changes, or variants, in individual patients was enhanced.
New Northwestern Medicine- research offers one of the first in-depth studies of how physiological changes during pregnancy reduce the effects of a commonly used drug to treat bipolar disorder, making women more vulnerable to recurring episodes. The new findings will help psychiatrists and physicians prevent bipolar manic and depressive symptoms during pregnancy, which are risky for the health of the mother and her unborn child.
A new study by researchers from McGill University and the University of British Columbia shows that mice, like humans, express pain through facial expressions.
