A new survey by researchers at the University of Arkansas indicates that the health-care industry's supply chain lags behind the retail industry supply chain and could benefit significantly from adopting several of retail's best practices.
Researchers from the Center for Neuroprosthetics at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (EPFL), Switzerland, show that people can be "tricked" into feeling that an image of a human figure - an "avatar" - is their own body. The study is published in the open-access journal Frontiers in Behavioral Neuroscience.
Researchers reveal a new way in which cells restrain beta-catenin and potentially suppress tumor metastasis, the protein can be ejected from cells in small vesicles called exosomes. The study appears online on September 13 in the Journal of Cell Biology.
The pandemic has impacted significantly on people who suffer chronic pain. A study performed by the eHealth Lab, a research group affiliated with the Faculty of Health Sciences and the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya's eHealth Center, has shown that 70% of the people with chronic pain have seen their condition worsen in terms of severity, frequency of episodes and interference in their daily activities.
