Early reports have shown the COVID-19 pandemic has resulted in a decline in patients seeking outpatient medical care.
Most people would agree that the pleasure of some foods stems in part from its fat content. New research, led by the Monell Chemical Senses Center, has now found that liking of fatty food is more complex than its fat content alone - it could also be related to inborn genetic traits of the consumer related to fat perception.
Inflammatory breast cancer (IBC), an aggressive and rare malignancy, is often initially misdiagnosed as an infection or rash. However, getting the correct diagnosis quickly is critical for patients because the disease spreads beyond the breast in a matter of just days or weeks.
The UK was badly hit by the COVID-19 pandemic, with the numbers of patients requiring hospitalization high during the first wave of the infection.
Research conducted by Jesus Lovera, MD, Assistant Professor of Neurology at LSU Health Sciences Center New Orleans, and colleagues has shown that stress management treatment significantly reduced the formation of new brain lesions in people with multiple sclerosis (MS) over the course of treatment.
