A new study into whether dental amalgam fillings containing mercury are hazardous to health has found little evidence of an association between amalgam and disease.
One of the reasons cancer is so deadly is that it can evade attack from the body's immune system, which allows tumors to flourish and spread. Scientists can try to induce the immune system, known as immunotherapy, to go into attack mode to fight cancer and to build long lasting immune resistance to cancer cells.
Diagnostics company SphingoTec GmbH today announced a publication in Critical Care1 with data on 2,000 ICU patients demonstrating that sphingotec's proprietary biomarker bio-ADM (Bioactive Adrenomedullin) not only identifies high-risk patients for septic shock at admission but also identifies patients in the general ICU patient population who require immediate life-saving therapeutic intervention.
Navigators, who had planned to be working hard on online enrollments by now, are forced to try paper insurance applications or trying to answer consumers' questions about why they can't enroll. At the same time, a marketing blitz planned by health law advocates is on hold until the website works better.
