New York City Economic Development Corporation today announced the winners of Innovate Health Tech NYC, a competition designed to promote innovation within New York City's health technology sector.
Case Western Reserve University School of Dental Medicine researchers found the human body is better at fighting gum disease when fat cells, which trigger inflammation, disappear.
A new study has found that there is a rise of post-traumatic-stress disorder (PTSD) among those who have served the army and military over the past decade. The study reveals that most of the personnel who have been witness to active combat were among those who reported with symptoms of PTSD and 17 percent of these individuals were diagnosed with PTSD.
The number of children being adopted from care in Northern Ireland has increased, according to a study by Queen's University. However, Health Boards and Trusts vary dramatically in their decisions on long-term placements for children in care.
Currently, people receiving organ transplants must take drugs to suppress the inflammatory immune response that leads to rejection. Even so, almost all recipients eventually lose their transplant.
