Regulus Therapeutics Inc. (NASDAQ:RGLS), a biopharmaceutical company leading the discovery and development of innovative medicines targeting microRNAs, today announced that it has demonstrated human proof-of-concept with a microRNA therapeutic from an ongoing clinical study evaluating RG-101, a wholly-owned, GalNac-conjugated anti-miR targeting microRNA-122 ("miR-122"), for the treatment of hepatitis C virus infection ("HCV").
Researchers from Children's Hospital of Philadelphia have shown there may be key genetic differences in the causes of attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder between African Americans and people of European ancestry, which may play an important part in how patients of different ethnic backgrounds respond to treatments for this condition.
The evidence emerging from the EC funded EARNEST Project is beginning to shine some light into intriguing and potentially difficult ethical questions concerning the impact that nutrition in the womb and in early life has on our healthy life chances.
