Experts from around the world gathered in Ottawa today for the start of the third annual International Conference on Residency Education (ICRE), which is being organized by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.
Colorectal cancer patients with certain genetic backgrounds may benefit more from taking aspirin to prevent cancer reoccurrence, based on a study conducted by researchers at the Baylor Scott & White Health Research Institute.
Recent clinical trials have shown that 90 percent of early stage breast cancer patients over age 70 do not benefit from radiation after breast-conserving surgery. And yet, use of radiation in this context has dropped only minimally.
