"A nonprofit group's campaign to hold free medical clinics for the uninsured in three states is turning into a not-so-subtle jab at moderate Democrats to support their party's efforts to reform health care," The Associated Press reports. "More than 800 people have signed up for free care Saturday at a downtown convention center in Little Rock at an event organized by the National Association of Free Clinics — the Virginia-based association's second free event in the past month under a campaign promoted by MSNBC's Keith Olbermann."

Orthovita, Inc., an orthobiologics and biosurgery company, announced that it received 510(k) clearance from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration to market VITOMATRIX Bone Graft Substitute as a bone grafting material in certain dental procedures.
Along with the release of a WHO-UNICEF guide on medicines for children, the U.N. agencies on Friday said the guide "exposed dangerous shortfalls" in medicines designed for children and called for more research into treating children, Reuters reports. "While effective medicines exist to fight disease and treat life-threatening conditions like malnutrition, formulations suitable for children are often difficult to source," Francisco Blanco, UNICEF's chief of medicines and nutrition, said, according to the news service.
The new Olympus SD-OSR microscope system features both confocal and super-resolution modes. The technology combines 120-nanometer (nm) resolution, a cell depth penetration of more than 50 microns, and an image speed of three frames per second (3fps) for advanced live cell imaging.
