Crown Bioscience, Inc., a leading global drug discovery and development service company with its R&D centers across the globe has announced that a new partnership agreement has been reached with the National Resource Center for Mutant Mice and its commercial branch Nanjing Biotech Innovation Corporation, in Nanjing, Jiangsu Province, China.
Various research groups are collecting different types of cells and turning them into induced pluripotent stem (iPS) cells that can then generate diverse types of cells and tissues in the body. Now investigators have transplanted kidney tissue made from human iPS cells into a mouse kidney, and they found that the animal's blood vessels readily connect to the human tissue.
Research examining the impact of sleep in school-age children suggests that even mild sleep loss produces marked deficits in their cognitive development and functioning.
