For decades, researchers have debated whether Alzheimer's disease starts independently in vulnerable brain regions at different times, or if it begins in one region and then spreads to neuroanatomically connected areas. A new study by Columbia University Medical Center (CUMC) researchers strongly supports the latter, demonstrating that abnormal tau protein, a key feature of the neurofibrillary tangles seen in the brains of those with Alzheimer's, propagates along linked brain circuits, "jumping" from neuron to neuron.
The idea seemed transformative. The Affordable Care Act would fund a new research outfit evocatively named the Innovation Center to discover how to most effectively deliver health care, with $10 billion to spend over a decade.
Resound Marketing, an NJ Biz Top 20 PR agency specializing in creating storylines which earn national media placement, today announced that it has been selected as the agency of record to promote a summer-long awareness campaign about long-term health care planning, organized by non-profit 3in4 Need More and elder care expert Dr. Marion.
