By means of so-called health coaching, researchers at the University of Copenhagen have helped a large group of diabetics to markedly improve their oral health.
New research being presented at the ESCMID Conference on Coronavirus Disease (ECCVID, online 23-25 September) shows that, in a head-to-head comparison of five tests used to detect SARS-CoV-2 antibodies (known as 'immunoassays'), an assay manufactured by Siemens and one developed by an academic partnership led by the University of Oxford had the most accurate results.
Memory problems are the most frequent complaints in epilepsy patients, and with 3 million people in the US suffering from epilepsy, this condition needs to be addressed. In response, the Northeast Regional Epilepsy Group (NEREG) is introducing new locations to the only existing memory treatment program on January 24 in Staten Island and on January 26 in Middletown, NY.
Anthrax, septicemia and meningitis are some of the planet's most deadly infections. In part because doctors lack basic insights to prevent and cure diseases caused by so called Gram-positive bacteria. Now, a chemist from the University of Copenhagen has revealed the mechanism behind these deadly infections.
