The Canadian Task Force on Preventive Health Care has published new recommendations that rule out the need to do a thyroid screening test "just because" if the patient doesn't have symptoms of thyroid abnormality, is an adult, isn't pregnant, and has no risk factors for thyroid disease. This should put to rest any doubts that thyroid screening is a part of a routine check-up.
Offering patients the choice between home screening or in-office colonoscopy does not increase participation in colorectal cancer screening, according to a new Penn Medicine study.
"Since 1970, campaigns against smoking seem to have been largely successful, but the message has not been able to reach the youngest ages," says professor Cecilie Svanes at Centre for International Health at The University of Bergen.
The cost of a college education and the stress of making the transition from high school to college are two common areas of concern among high school students as they near graduation. Chamberlain College of Nursing is looking to ease these concerns through its new Navigate to Nursing Scholarship Program.
