Alnylam Pharmaceuticals, Inc. a leading RNAi therapeutics company announced today that it has published results in the American Journal of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine from its double-blind, placebo-controlled, randomized Phase IIa study of ALN-RSV01 in lung transplant patients naturally infected with respiratory syncytial virus (RSV).
U.N. humanitarian agencies on Monday said areas of the Libyan capital, Tripoli, "urgently need humanitarian assistance, including medical treatment for injuries caused by the ongoing conflict in the North African country," the U.N. News Centre reports.
PET and MRI preclinical imaging systems can now be operated simultaneously for the first time by researchers. This follows the introduction of MR Solutions' commercially available MRS-PET system which is inserted within the cryogen free 3T, 4.7T, or 7T MRI magnet.
The researchers found that Rad9, previously considered a "watchman" that checks for DNA damage, is actually a "repairman" that fixes dangerous breaks in the DNA double helix. They found Rad9 is especially active in telomeres, the protective ends of chromosomes.
