Researchers from University College London have devised a new way by which they could decipher the language cancer cells use to communicate among themselves. They found this unique method of communication between the cancer cells in organoids or collections of cells mimicking a mini organism in the lab.
The final months and weeks for terminally ill hospital patients could be made better if hospitals simply instituted a systematic process to seek the thoughts of dying patients and families on how to improve the medical care provided, say experts at a leading international medical ethics think tank.
The American College of Physicians (ACP) was awarded an initial $175,000 grant for 2012-13 from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to create a three-year, evidence-based program to increase adult immunization rates in five states.
Orexigen® Therapeutics, Inc., a biopharmaceutical company focused on the treatment of obesity, and Patheon Inc., a global provider of drug development and manufacturing services, announced today a long-term agreement for commercial manufacturing of Contrave® (naltrexone HCL sustained release (SR)/bupropion HCL SR) as well as development of future formulations of Orexigen products.
