"Democrats Tom Daschle and George Mitchell are set to join Republicans Bob Dole and Howard Baker on Wednesday to release a $1.2 trillion proposal that would be fully paid for with a combination of spending cuts and tax increases," the Associated Press reports.
AIDS Healthcare Foundation, the largest global AIDS organization, is spearheading a series of US and global protests targeting the Government of the People's Republic of China to demand that it step up its commitment on global AIDS and pledge one billion dollars to Global Fund to Fight AIDS, TB, and Malaria.
The bipartisan track and trace draft legislation released last week would allow drugs to be authenticated throughout the supply chain, which could help combat counterfeiting as well as the so-called gray market that's been highlighted in the drug shortage crisis, Democratic staffers who worked on the draft said.
