Although malaria has been eradicated in many countries, including the United States, it still infects more than 200 million people worldwide, killing nearly a million every year. UK scientists have developed a 3D test for malignant melanoma that can identify problems not easily spotted in a standard two-dimensional view of the pattern on the skin. The researchers describe the technique in detail in the latest issue of the International Journal of Modelling, Identification and Control.
