Sosei Group Corporation confirms the information released today by Novartis that the Japanese Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare (MHLW) has approved Seebri (glycopyrronium bromide) Inhalation Capsules 50 mcg administered through the Breezhaler device, as a once-daily, long-term, inhaled maintenance bronchodilator treatment for the relief of various symptoms due to airway obstructive disease in chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
Both simple and advanced computed tomography were effective in accurately predicting which stroke patients would benefit from endovascular thrombectomy to remove a large cerebral clot, but together they were even better, reported researchers at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston.
Australian biopharmaceutical company Specialised Therapeutics Australia announces that a phase III clinical trial of world leading breast cancer drug ABRAXANE (nanoparticle albumin-bound paclitaxel) in combination with current standard of care gemcitabine in patients with advanced pancreatic cancer has demonstrated substantially improved survival times, with double the number of patients surviving two years.
Prostate cancer is the most common form of cancer in men. Affecting about 1 in 6 men, it is the second deadliest cancer. Research has been stymied by imperfect animal models of the disease, which are costly, take considerable time to develop, and fail to mimic the most lethal aspects of the illness.
SpePharm Holding, BV today announced the acquisition of the worldwide (with the exception of North and South America) rights to Savene® from TopoTarget A/S (Copenhagen, Denmark). As part of the acquisition SpePharm will also take on the European sales force of TopoTarget. Savene®, which has been marketed by TopoTarget since its approval by the EMEA in July 2006, is the only approved product for the treatment of extravasations, or leakage out of the blood stream, of certain commonly used anticancer drugs known as anthracyclines.
