Researchers have learned more about how a leading drug prevents certain types of arthritis from eating away at bone, according to a study published in the March edition of the Annals of the Rheumatic Diseases.
Intensive care unit physicians can increase the success of mechanical ventilation weaning and shorten the weaning period by identifying critically ill patients who have adrenal insufficiency and treating them with the hormone hydrocortisone (cortisol).
Research from investigators at Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey examining the inner workings of a rare non-cancerous (benign) kidney tumor has revealed a mechanism to prevent this type of tumor from becoming cancerous (malignant).
