The U.S. Agriculture Department (USDA) said on Wednesday it has joined the Global Research Alliance, which aims to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and increase access to food worldwide, Reuters reports.
MabCure, Inc., a biotechnology company using its proprietary technology to create highly specific monoclonal antibodies (MAbs) for the early detection of cancer, today announced that it has recently completed a private placement in the aggregate amount of $1 million. The amount is comprised of a $500,000 cash investment and the conversion of a $500,000 bridge loan that was made in September 2009, into equity securities.
While participating in physical activities such as bike riding, dancing, walking and gardening and mentally stimulating activities such as crosswords and reading may reduce the risk of Alzheimer's disease, they may not do so by affecting the underlying markers for the disease, according to a study published in the June 10, 2015, online issue of Neurology, the medical journal of the American Academy of Neurology.
Spectrum Health will be the first health system in West Michigan and among the first in the nation to offer treatment with a newly FDA-approved device that uses electric stimulation of the brain for adult epilepsy patients whose seizures have not responded to medication.
Administration officials announced a new stimulus-funded federal grant program that will deploy $1.2 billion to help build health information technology infrastructure on Thursday.
