Phenomenex's extensive chiral application database is unique in the industry, particularly with the addition of the SFC methods, which were developed in collaboration with the Department of Analytical Chemistry and Pharmaceutical Technology, Vrije Universiteit Brussel, Brussels, Belgium.
The Kaiser Permanente Southern California Department of Research & Evaluation has been selected for inclusion in the 10-center Mental Health Research Network (MHRN) recently funded with a $10.5 million grant from the National Institute of Mental Health. The five other Kaiser Permanente research centers included in the MHRN are located in Northern California, Oregon, Colorado, Georgia, and Hawaii.
With a goal of treating worn, arthritic hips without extensive surgery to replace them, scientists have programmed stem cells to grow new cartilage on a 3-D template shaped like the ball of a hip joint.
However, a high number of adverse events, including major injury and even death, occur in private physician offices and outpatient clinics as well. In a new study - the first of its kind - researchers at Weill Cornell Medical College found that the number and magnitude of events resulting from medical errors is surprisingly similar inside and outside hospital walls.
