Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) Canada is pleased to announce its first partnership with the Government of Canada through the Federal Economic Development Agency of Southern Ontario. Through this innovative two-year partnership, the Government of Canada is committing $20 million and JDRF is making a matching contribution of $10 million to accelerate world-class diabetes research in Southern Ontario by implementing a clinical trial network for diabetes research.
The European Liver Patients Association (ELPA) and the World Hepatitis Alliance (WHA), announced today on the 4th annual World Hepatitis Day that 'PATH B - "Patients and Professionals Acting Together for Hepatitis B" - My journey with chronic hepatitis B', a comprehensive educational resource designed to improve the lives of people living with chronic hepatitis B, is to be launched in August 2011.

Now, University of Missouri researchers have made a discovery in how specialized proteins can inhibit the virus, opening the door for progress in the fight against HIV and for the production of advanced therapeutics to combat the disease.
