A new policy brief from the International AIDS Vaccine Initiative (IAVI) "summarizes data on HIV vaccine R&D funding trends originally published by the HIV Vaccines and Microbicides Resource Tracking Working Group in 2011," according to the IAVI website.
The Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP) has welcomed the move yesterday to hold a Senate Inquiry into the Federal Government's decision to cut the Medicare patient rebates for GP mental health services in the 2011‐2012 Federal Budget. The Senate Inquiry comes after strong and consistent lobbying on the issue by the RACGP and our colleagues within United General Practice Australia (UGPA).
People from lower socioeconomic backgrounds who suffer a heart attack come to the emergency department more often, are less likely to be treated aggressively and have higher mortality rates a year after the attack, says new University of Alberta research that has important implications for access to cardiac care.
"Together with international partners, the United States has launched an unprecedented effort over the past three years to reverse a decades-long decline in agricultural investments," with a goal of "alleviating the chronic hunger that afflicts nearly one billion people around the world, including an estimated 53 million in Latin America and the Caribbean," a VOA editorial states.
