For patients diagnosed with breast cancer, determining whether cancer cells have spread to the axillary lymph nodes of the armpit is important for guiding treatment decisions. It has been debated whether axillary ultrasound imaging is equally sensitive for detecting axillary metastatic lymph nodes in different subtypes of breast cancer.
Though hospitals are making strides in avoiding central line-associated blood stream infections (CLABSIs) and catheter-associated urinary tract infections (CAUTIs), a report released today, in the midst of Patient Safety Awareness Week (March 13-19), shows patients are still experiencing these serious, and sometimes fatal, infections too frequently.
On October 12th and 13th, Island Doctors will participate, sponsor, and co-host three events in Putnam and St. Johns County, Florida. The events are part of Island Doctors continued commitment to community diabetes awareness campaigns across NE Florida.
Greater time spent in physical activities with moderate-high intensity and less time devoted to sedentary activities, such as watching television, are associated with a lower presence of cardiometabolic risk factors including obesity, diabetes and certain individual components of metabolic syndrome, according to the first results published from the multicentric study PREDIMED-PLUS.
Cerapedics, a privately-held orthobiologics company, announced today results from a pivotal FDA Investigational Device Exemption (IDE) clinical trial for i-FACTOR Peptide Enhanced Bone Graft in anterior cervical discectomy and fusion (ACDF) procedures have been electronically published in the peer-reviewed journal Spine.
