On Friday September 28th, a U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Ophthalmic Devices Advisory Panel unanimously voted 19-0 that the probable benefit of the Argus II Retinal Prosthesis System outweighs the risks to health, an important step toward the FDA market approval of this product manufactured by Second Sight Medical Products, Inc.
UNICEF says that climate change is posing an immense challenge to the health of children worldwide. Though children commonly have the least to do with the actions and attitudes that lead to climate change, they are the ones who will have to bear the brunt of it.
Non-invasive coronary computed tomography angiography is a cost-effective alternative to invasive cardiac catheterization in the care of patients who have positive stress test results but a less than 50 percent chance of actually having significant coronary artery disease, according to a study in the May issue of the American Journal of Roentgenology.
