New light has been thrown on how humans choose their partners, a scientist will tell the annual conference of the European Society of Human Genetics today (Monday May 25).
Parents of children with autism around the world are calling the findings against Dr. Andrew Wakefield in the UK's General Medical Council (GMC) unjust and a threat to researchers investigating autism as a medical condition. The verdict comes less than a month after an article in the journal Pediatrics urged further study of a link between gastrointestinal disturbances and autism originally pointed out by Dr. Wakefield in 1988.
Doctors have long believed that high blood pressure directly caused kidney damage.
Use of established fracture prediction methods in older patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (DM) found that scores from these methods were associated with hip and nonspine fracture risk, and a certain score associated with higher risk of fracture compared to persons without DM, according to a study in the June 1 issue of JAMA.
A national research collaboration funded by the National Institutes of Health has found significant racial and ethnic disparities in breastfeeding outcomes, according to a study published online this week in Pediatrics.
