National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) researchers have developed new certified reference materials for measuring amounts of organic acids in dietary supplements formulated with Vaccinium berries-cranberries, blueberries and bilberries. New research published in the March 18th edition of Lipids showed that people who have peripheral artery disease have a lower Omega-3 Index compared to those who don't have the disease.
A potentially treatable blood vessel abnormality in the brain may be the cause of Parkinson's Disease in some patients, according to a study published today in the journal Neurology International by a team of leading physicians and neuroscientists at Pittsburgh's Allegheny General Hospital.
Pregnant women with obstructive sleep apnea are more than five times as likely to die in the hospital than those without the sleep disorder, a comprehensive national study by the University of South Florida researchers found.
