TeamHealth Holdings Inc., one of the nation's largest providers of outsourced physician staffing solutions for hospitals, announced the acquisition of the operations of Ruby Crest Emergency Medicine, the group that manages and staffs the hospital emergency department for Northeastern Nevada Regional Hospital in Elko, Nev. Ruby Crest Emergency Medicine's clinicians provide care for approximately 24,000 cases annually.
A robotic system can safely assist interventional cardiologists in performing percutaneous coronary interventions (PCI) while significantly reducing the physician's exposure to radiation and improving precision and control, according to results of the PRECISE study (CorPath Percutaneous Robotically-Enhance Coronary Intervention Study), presented today as a late-breaking clinical trial at the SCAI 2012 Scientific Sessions.
Scientists in the United Kingdom have received a grant worth two million euros, or about $2.67 million, to develop a self-monitoring system for HIV-positive people that measures viral loads through a finger-prick of blood, BBC News reports.

But apart from a very rare type of lymphoma, these drugs unfortunately do not clinically affect malignant tumors," says Prof. Dr. Olaf Witt, who heads a research department at DKFZ and is pediatrician at the Center for Child and Adolescent Medicine of Heidelberg University Hospital.
