Adolescents with mental health disorders are significantly more likely to become addicted to prescription opioid pain relievers than those without mental disorders, experts say.
Human rhinovirus (HRV), the culprit behind most colds, is the leading cause of hospitalization for premature babies. However, in very preterm children, exactly how HRV causes severe respiratory disease - and which patients may need more intensive observation and treatment - is less well understood.
The 2001 Stockholm Convention on Persistent Organic Pollutants (POPs) enters into force on Monday, May 17, marking the start of an ambitious international effort to rid the world of PCBs, dioxins and furans, and nine highly dangerous pesticides.

Medtronic, Inc. today announced the publication of data showing that use of its Reveal family of Insertable Cardiac Monitors led to diagnosis and specific treatment for 78 percent (170 of 218) of patients who experienced a recurrent syncopal (fainting) event during the course of the study.
