The American Academy of Dermatology Association (Academy) opposes recent legislation to repeal the federal 10 percent indoor tanning tax. Countless scientific studies continue to demonstrate clear and compelling evidence that tanning bed use increases the risk of developing all forms of skin cancer.
BIO-key International, Inc., a leader in finger-based biometric identification solutions announced the award of another contract for a fingerprint biometric identity solution built on the fusion of BIO-key and MorphoTrak algorithms. The first contract for this fused solution, awarded to MorphoTrak (a Morpho company) by Lockheed Martin in September 2009, provides fingerprint identification technology for the FBI's Next Generation Identification (NGI) system. This new contract will provide large scale advanced finger matching technology to an overseas customer.
Data from the 48-week ART trial, presented today at the Digestive Disease Week meeting, showed that remission and response rates were 37.2% and 53.2% respectively at week 12, in patients with moderate-to-severe, steroid-dependent active ulcerative colitis (UC) with insufficient response or intolerance to immunosuppressants and / or biologics when treated with between five and eight sessions with Adacolumn.
