Biomedical engineers at Duke University have devised a new imaging device capable of measuring both the thickness and texture of the various layers of the retina at the back of the eye.
The mHealth Alliance on Monday at its summit in Washington, D.C., "announced a two-year $1 million aggregate donation from HP" aimed at furthering the alliance's goal of delivering quality health care "at the furthest reaches of wireless networks and mobile devices," mobihealthnews reports.
New brain research is unlocking long-standing mysteries, explaining how the brain trains itself and how human beings develop their superior cognitive skills. New scanning tools (FMRI, SPECT, QEEG, etc.) are advancing neurology's understanding of a process called neuroplasticity and shedding light on a simple looking balance and movement regimen used since 1982 by developmental specialists to treat people with ADHD, Dyslexia and other learning differences.
The National Institutes of Health announced today that microbiologist Sloan Siegrist at the University of Massachusetts Amherst has received a five-year, $2.3 million National Institutes of Health New Innovator Award, which supports "unusually innovative research from early career investigators," to study the bacterium that causes tuberculosis (TB).
Community Health Network and the University of Indianapolis are joining forces to establish a clinical facility on campus where students and faculty will work alongside health and wellness professionals to serve patients and clients, transforming the educational experience and bringing important resources to an underserved part of the city.
