A simple blood test may be as accurate as a spinal fluid test when trying to determine whether symptoms are caused by Parkinson's disease or another atypical parkinsonism disorder, according to a new study published in the February 8, 2017, online issue of Neurology, the medical journal of the American Academy of Neurology.
In an alarming new finding from the recent Australian Child Health Poll it has been seen that nearly one third of preschoolers and two thirds of primary school aged children are owners of smart phones. If not owners, one in two kids are using these smart phones unsupervised, the poll finds.
Injecting specialized cardiac stem cells into a patient's heart rebuilds healthy tissue after a heart attack, but where do the new cells come from and how are they transformed into functional muscle?
A study led by Xiaoching Li, PhD, at the LSU Health Sciences Center New Orleans Neuroscience Center of Excellence, has shown for the first time how two tiny molecules regulate a gene implicated in speech and language impairments as well as autism disorders, and that social context of vocal behavior governs their function.
