This week, the Centura Health Cancer Network was awarded silver accreditation by the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer, becoming the first Integrated Network Cancer Program in Colorado.
The international First-line Radiosurgery for Small-Cell Lung Cancer analysis led by University of Colorado Cancer Center researchers and published today in JAMA Oncology details clinical outcomes for 710 patients with brain metastases from small cell lung cancer treated with first-line stereotactic radiosurgery, without prior treatment with whole-brain radiation or prophylactic cranial irradiation.
Initial results of the Study of Tamoxifen and Raloxifene, or STAR, show that the drug raloxifene, currently used to prevent and treat osteoporosis in postmenopausal women, works as well as tamoxifen in reducing breast cancer risk for postmenopausal women at increased risk of the disease.
In a recent cutting-edge study, US researchers unveiled an anti-staphylococcal enterotoxin B monoclonal antibody that can be repurposed to target the cleavage site of the SARS-CoV-2 spike glycoprotein and, in turn, inhibit viral infection. Their findings are currently available on bioRxiv preprint server.
