Stereotaxis, Inc. announced today that it launched the Odyssey Interventional Network, a training and educational video sharing web portal for the global cardiovascular community. Opexa Therapeutics, Inc., a biotechnology company developing a novel T-cell therapy for multiple sclerosis (MS), announced today that the Company is rebranding its leading MS therapy with the new name Tcelna. The product, previously known as Tovaxin, will now be known as Tcelna as the company positions itself towards the treatment of patients with Secondary Progressive MS (SPMS).
In this post in the Center for Global Development's "Global Health Policy" blog, Amanda Glassman, director of Global Health Policy and a research fellow at the center, reports on last week's USAID- and World Bank-sponsored debate on treatment as prevention, "where debaters were asked to support or oppose the proposition that countries should spend the majority of flat or declining HIV prevention budgets on 'treatment as prevention,' building off the results of the HPTN 052 study which found a relative reduction of 89 percent in the total number of HIV-1 transmissions resulting from the early initiation of antiretroviral therapy.
A research team of 39 investigators from 28 colleges and universities from across the United States has been recognized by the Association of Public and Land-Grant Universities and the United States Department of Agriculture with its National Excellence in Multistate Research Award.
News outlets report on a variety of aspects of the health law ranging from the IPAB and ACOs to the two states to most recently gain waivers from the Department of Health and Human Services.
