Researchers at Moffitt Cancer Center surveyed 1,008 physicians seeking their knowledge, recommendation beliefs and information on their practices regarding the controversial human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine, which is aimed at preventing cancers resulting from sexually transmitted HPV infection. Of the physicians surveyed, 112 provided additional comments at the conclusion of the survey.
Researchers have developed an experimental cancer vaccine that when injected into a single tumour can help trigger the immune system to kill the cancer cells circulating within the body. The results of the study titled, "Systemic clinical tumor regressions and potentiation of PD1 blockade with in situ vaccination," were published in the latest issue of the journal Nature Medicine, this week, Monday.
"The public option has gone through several stages of evolution this year, but it could soon face extinction unless one of the new versions picks up political momentum," The Hill reports.
New research from Oregon Health & Science University for the first time documents the presence of astrocytes in zebrafish, a milestone that will open new avenues of research into a star-shaped type of glial cell in the brain that is critical for nearly every aspect of brain assembly and function.
