Experts say it's never too late to reap the benefits of exercise, and a program offered in New York City senior centers is improving quality of life for many older adults.
A new study of older men found a link between poor sleep quality and the development of cognitive decline over three to four years.
Ovarian cancer is a rare but often deadly disease that can strike at any time in a woman's life. Experts at Northwestern Memorial say the best defense is to make use of preventive methods, understand the risks and recognize potential warning signs of ovarian cancer.
A team of scientists at the Neuroscience Research Institute at the University of California, Santa Barbara, say they have identified three molecules that appear to stop a key culprit behind Alzheimer's disease.
"In an attempt to assess the impact of U.S. international assistance for AIDS, researchers from Stanford University carried out a review of the relationship between U.S. support provided through the President's Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) and adult mortality in PEPFAR focus countries in sub-Saharan Africa, and whether there were differences in outcome between these countries and other African countries which did not receive PEPFAR support," NAM's Aidsmap reports.
