In a relatively unusual event, federal health officials called a news conference this week in an attempt to affirm the safety of vaccines.
The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) is awarding up to $1.5 million, over three years, to Morehouse School of Medicine to enhance the effort to network the 105 Historically Black Colleges and Universities throughout the United States to promote behavioral health, expand campus service capacity and facilitate workforce development.
More than one in three - an estimated 328,000 - Ontario students in grades seven to 12 report moderate-to-serious psychological distress, according to new survey results from the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health. Girls are twice as likely as boys to experience psychological distress.
Two recently discovered genetic differences between brain cancer cells and normal tissue cells - an altered gene and a snippet of noncoding genetic material - could offer clues to tumor behavior and potential new targets for therapy, Johns Hopkins scientists report.
