The HALO Pap Test for the Breast - which helps assess a woman's risk of developing breast cancer - will be featured this Friday Sept. 11 on the popular daytime healthcare talk show by co-host Lisa Masterson, MD, an ob/gyn in Santa Monica, Calif.
Clinical psychologist and author Kay Redfield Jamison will be presented with Rockefeller University's 2012 Lewis Thomas Prize for Writing about Science at a ceremony on June 5, 2013. The award recognizes Jamison's 1993 book Touched with Fire: Manic-Depressive Illness and the Artistic Temperament, which examines the relationship between artistic creativity and mood disorders.
The Children's Environmental Health and Disease Prevention Research Center at Dartmouth and its partner universities have received an $8 million grant to expand their research into arsenic toxicity in children and pregnant women.
Health officials in the UK have announced a national catch-up program to target 10–16 year olds who did not receive the combined measles, mumps, and rubella vaccination in early childhood due to fears about links with autism.
