A new method for quickly identifying individual viruses and recognising how they bind to host cells may become a vital tool in the early control of winter vomiting disease and other virus-based diseases. Activated microglia-mediated inflammation promotes neuronal damage under cerebral hypoxic-ischemic conditions, so it is likely that inhibiting hypoxia-induced activation of microglia will alleviate neuronal damage.
Today, Canada's Stem Cell Network (SCN) released a study entitled, Training Tomorrow's Research Leaders, outlining the impacts of nearly 20 years of targeted skills training on Canada's emergent regenerative medicine sector.
