A second round of aggregate findings from a study by Tohoku University's Tohoku Medical Megabank Organization (ToMMo) has revealed that depressive symptoms continue to be higher in coastal areas than in inland areas affected by the Great East Japan Earthquake and the tsunami that followed.
Greenway Medical Technologies, Inc. announced today that Childs Medical Clinic of Samson, Ala. is the first Greenway customer utilizing the company's integrated electronic health record, practice management and interoperability solution PrimeSUITE 2011 to successfully attest and receive payment notice within the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services Stage 1 meaningful use incentives program within the Medicare pathway.
Researchers from Columbia University Medical Center, New York State Psychiatric Institute, and NewYork-Presbyterian reported that an odor identification test may prove useful in predicting cognitive decline and detecting early-stage Alzheimer's disease.
The Physician Payments Sunshine Act, passed under the Affordable Care Act, requires all pharmaceutical and medical device companies to report payments to physicians, including consulting fees, gifts, speaking fees, meals, travel and research grants. This information is searchable to the public on a database called Open Payments, managed by the Centers for Medicare & Medical Services.

Preliminary clinical data from the first 24 weeks of the study (12 weeks at 0.1mg/kg and 12 weeks at 1.0 mg/kg) have been evaluated, and BioMarin plans to announce top-line results for the full 36-week study after completion of dosing at 2.0 mg/kg in the second quarter of 2010.
