A new prosthetic accessory worn on the residual limb of a transtibial (below-knee) amputee was awarded the Grand Prize at the Fourth Annual PennVention competition for student inventors at the University of Pennsylvania's Weiss Tech House.
Although sharply divided, public attitudes toward gays and lesbians are rapidly changing to reflect greater acceptance, with younger generations leading the way, research by NORC at the University of Chicago shows.
Under normal physiological conditions, low levels of microparticles are continually being shed into the blood from the endothelium - the cells that line the inside of blood vessels and some organs -and appear to cause no problems.
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration today issued warning letters to five distributors for various violations of the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act (FDCA) including unsubstantiated claims and poor manufacturing practices.
Cancers cells now have a powerful adversary called 'magnetic hyperthermia' and it consists of clusters of magnetic nanoparticles.
